Mildred Hendrickson 09/27/2021

Mildred “Millie” Hendrickson, age 84 of New Richmond, died on Monday, September 27, 2021. She was born on April 23, 1937, to parents, Adolph and Carmen Hermansen. On August3, 1957 Millie married Robert Hendrickson and was happily married for 64 years. Millie dedicated her 24-year career to the Friday Memorial Library, where she assisted patrons with research and enjoyed connecting with the public. She could always be found helping people of all ages fall in love with a new topic or author. Nothing excited her more than discussions with others over common interests found in books.
Millie was a fantastic seamstress. She could sew anything from her daughters’ wedding dress, the curtains that hung throughout the house, and little teddy bears used as party favors. Millie also enjoyed gardening (she never met a weed she liked), doing puzzles in the Sunday newspaper and reading the comics with Bob.
Millie is survived by her son, Richard (Barb); daughters, Linda (Chris) Milliron, Sandra (John) Johnson; granddaughter, Izzy Hopkins; sisters, Lillian Shillberg, Verna Bergmann; and brother, Melvin (Louise) Hermansen. She is preceded in death by her parents, Adolph and Carmen Hermansen, and husband, Robert. In lieu of flowers, please donate to your favorite library.
A visitation was held on Friday, October 8, 2021, at 10:30AM at Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services (728 S. Knowles Ave) in New Richmond with a short memorial service starting at 11:30AM. Following the service, a luncheon was served at the funeral home. Arrangements are with Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services.

I remember Millie well as she helped me so many times at the city library. Her kindness touched oh so many patrons of the library. My sincerest condolences to the family.
