Miguel Duenes 09/03/2020

Miguel “Mike” Dueñes was born 1928 in Martindale, Texas. He was raised in Martindale and Southern Minnesota. He was the 8^th of 9 children who proudly worked as migrant farmers and sharecroppers. He served in the Army as a Tank driver during the Korean War, while supporting his family. He was a musician who played mariachi and dance music across Minnesota and parts of the Midwest. He eventually bought his own farm in northern Wisconsin and modernized farming in the region. After farming, he was a proud member of and retired from construction Union 563. He loved farming and organic vegetable farming. His favorite hobbies included telling his wife and adult children to return home before dark. He passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by family. He will be missed by his wife of 53 years, 3 children, and 5 grandsons.
