Michael John Mayer was born on May 4, 1965 in Freeport, Illinois to parents Margene and John, and passed on November 4, 2022 at his mother’s home with Family present. As a young man, his love of cooking led him to the Minneapolis Culinary Institute, where he later graduated. After working as a chef at numerous local restaurants, he chose to instead start his own Trucking Company, M & M Construction. In his free time, Michael loved to go fishing. He is survived by his mother, Margene Mayer of Somerset, WI; sister, Deborah Mayer of Somerset, WI; sister, Margene (Paul) Westmoreland of Somerset, WI; brother, Mark (Cathy) Mayer of Pontotoc, MS; as well as many nieces, nephews, countless friends; and his life partner, Terry Tiosh.  Cremation services provided by Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services.
