Michael Hoppe, Sr. 12/09/2021

Michael “Mike” Hoppe, Sr., age 66, of New Richmond died Thursday, December 9, 2021 the result of prolonged health issues at Westfields Hospital.  He served in the US Army. His first tour for 4 years as a tank driver and his second tour for 3 years in the infantry.  Mike worked at Dahl Tech in Bayport for 20 years.  He enjoyed reading Stephen King novels and watching the American History channel.  He is remembered for his sense of humor and his “soft spot” for animals.  Mike is survived by his wife, Tammy Hoppe; children, Jay Hoppe, Michael (Christine Gallup) Hoppe, Jr., Daniel (Tara Millhouse) Hoppe; grandchildren, Roger Hoppe-Kostelnik, Michael “Trey” Hoppe, III; siblings, Virginia Smith, Jeannie (Ron) Bechard, Peggy (Paul) Kistner, Rebecca Hilson, Lyman “Scottie” (Virginia) Hoppe; many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews; and other relatives.  He is preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Betty; sister, Sherry; brothers, Terry and William; grandson, Andrew Allyn James “AJ” Hoppe.  A Celebration of Mike’s Life was held on Sunday, December 19, 2021 from 2:00-5:00 pm at Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services (728 S Knowles Ave.) in New Richmond.  Arrangements are with Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services.
