Maxine Schilling 02/15/2013

Maxine Lorraine Schilling, age 98 of Somerset, WI, died on Friday, February 15, 2013 at the Deerfield Gables in New Richmond, WI.  Maxine was born the daughter of August and Jessie (Allen) Smolik on December 21, 1914 in St. Paul, MN.  She grew up in St. Paul.  On July 3, 1942 she married Miles Walter Schilling.  They made their home in West St. Paul where they raised three daughters.  Maxine enjoyed camping and hiking, flowers and birds, reading and sewing.  Maxine learned how to operate a computer in her 80’s and liked to listen to the Twins and Talk Radio.  She loved to travel and was able to visit all 50 of the United States.  She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Miles Schilling; daughter, Joan Esparza; and her sisters.  Maxine is survived by her daughters, Susan Riddle, Linnette (Joel) Larson; grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.  A memorial service was held on Sunday, February 24, 2013 at 1pm at the Bakken-Young Funeral Home in Hudson with visitation from 12-1 pm.  Arrangements were with Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services of Hudson.
