Mavis Fredericks 08/28/2020

Mavis Marie (LaCroix) Fredericks, age 77 of Cumberland, died Friday, August 28, 2020 at River Falls Hospital in River Falls. She was born the daughter of Raymond and Elna (Hoyt) LaCroix on March 11, 1943. Mavis grew up in Mendota, MN attending Henry Sibley High School and later received her GED. After school, she was a homemaker taking care of her five kids, which were her entire world. She also had multiple jobs in Sales and Real Estate. Mavis loved gardening, bird watching, and socializing. She was a spiritual, caring woman who was determined and independent. Mavis is preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Elna LaCroix; son, Vernon Jr.; siblings, Clayton LaCroix, Donna (Mark) Myers, Raynold (Marion) LaCroix, Norman LaCroix. She is survived by her children, Cathy (Roger) Girgen, Scott (Ronda), Joe (Jamie), Teresa; grandchildren, Nicholas (Holly) and Christina Girgen, Anthony and Lea, Nicole and Amanda; great-grandson, Layne; sisters-in-law, Barbara and Janice LaCroix; and many other nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. A Memorial Service was held Friday, September 4, 2020 at 2:00PM at Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services (805 E Division St.) in River Falls with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Following the service, a Celebration of Life Gathering was held in the Glen Park Pavilion (355 W Park St.) in River Falls from 3:00-5:00PM.  Guests will be asked to follow all CDC guidelines for gathering including social distancing and face masks. Arrangements are with Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services.
