MaryLee Van 01/01/2021

Mary Lee Van, age 89, of River Falls, WI, passed away on Friday, January 1, 2021 at Kinnic Health and Rehab.  She was born on July 16, 1931 in Shenandoah, VA, the daughter of Ted and Myrtle Comer.  On July 1, 1950, she married Kenneth Van in Maryland, Kenneth was serving in the Army at the time, and after his discharge in 1952, the couple relocated to River Falls, WI.  Mary Lee worked for Smead’s Manufacturing for many years, and later for UWRF Food Service.  In the evenings, she loved going for a walk and visiting with friends.  Mary Lee was preceded in death by her parents and siblings.  She will be missed by her husband, Kenneth Van of River Falls, WI; and her daughter, Penny (Tony Reeder) Van of Hopkins, MN.  A Graveside Service was held on Friday, January 8, 2021 at 2 pm at Greenwood Cemetery 899 E Division Street River Falls, WI.  Arrangements are with Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services.

    Kenny and Penny, we are really sorry to hear about Mary Lee. It has been so long since we have seen any of you. We have so many good memories of when you visited. We still watch the home movies that Kenny took on your visits. You both take care.

    Kenny and Penny…We are so sorry to hear of your loss of Mary. Each spring when the Spirea blossom we think of you and the many plants we dug at your place and transplanted at our and our neighbors place. And Penny, how you and Melinda were such good friends in school. May all your good memories of Mary help heal your hearts. God Bless you both.

    Kenny and Penny. Teina and I are sad to hear of your loss. It was always fun days when you all came to Shenandoah to visit and I really have allot of great memories along with a videos of the different years with our families.

    Mary Lee was a loving presence in my childhood and I’m very saddened by this news. I know the past few years were hard for her and her family but we all wish she were still here. Stay strong Kenny and Penny.
