Mary Thompson 11/16/2024

Mary Thompson, age 86, died on Saturday, November 16, 2024 at Christian Community Home in Osceola WI. Mary battled cancer for ten months and was living at home up until October. She was born the daughter of Carl and Margaret Johnson in Stillwater, MN on May 2, 1938. Mary loved canning (on November 9, she donated over 200 jars of sweet pickles to West Immanuel Lutheran Church), gardening, quilting with her church group, and making lefsa. She was very sweet and never got mad. Mary was compassionate to her nieces and nephews. She was the last surviving member of the Johnson family.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Dean; parents, Carl and Margaret; and nine siblings. Mary is survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, December 15, 2024 at 11:00AM at West Immanuel Lutheran Church (447 180th Street Osceola WI 54020). Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery in Stillwater, MN. Cremation services provided by Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services.
