Mary J. Bessa, age 65 of Hudson, WI, passed away at her home on Sunday, September 30, 2018. Mary was born December 29, 1952 to Leonard and Joan (Stevens) Bessa. Mary attended schools in Rhinelander, graduating in 1971. Mary is survived by her siblings, Gary (Connie) Bessa, Tom Bessa of Rhinelander, Char Bessa of Madison, WI, Carol (Bill) Palm of Pompano Beach, FL, and Cheryl (Lee) Tourtillott of Burnsville, MN; and many other relatives, nieces, nephews and friends. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Joan; brother, L. John; and sister, Lori A. Birginal. The family would like to express appreciation to Lakeview Hospice of Stillwater, MN for their exceptional care of Mary. Per Mary’s request, there will be no services. A celebration of life will be held by the family at a later date. Arrangements are with Bakken-Young Funeral and Cremation Services of Hudson, WI.

So sorry for your loss. Mary was a special lady. Got to know her when she would care for and visit Edrys. Enjoyed our visits.

I had the pleasure of meeting Mary at my friend Mary Grosenick’s home during the fall of 2015. We had a lovely evening sharing good food, wine, and fellowship; Mary shared stories of her life and the history of Hudson with me – memorable evening.
Mary Bessa made many lives better with her time and care – she will be missed.
