Marvin Rogers 03/24/2012

Marvin L. Rogers age 77 a lifelong resident of New Richmond died Saturday, March 24, 2012 at Regions Hospital in St. Paul, MN.  He was born the son of Lee and Irene (Larson) Rogers on August 7, 1934.  Marvin graduated from New Richmond High School and attended UW-Eau Claire.  He served his country in US Army and was a member of the New Richmond American Legion Post #80.  Marvin worked at Friday’s Canning for over 35 years, retiring in 1998.  He is preceded in death by his parents, Lee and Irene Rogers; sisters, Edith Wilson and Dorothy Thieme; infant brother, Gary Rogers and brother-in-law, Ted Ewing.  He is survived by his siblings, Helen (Glen) Schumacher, Loretta Ewing, Alice (Edward) Olson, Rodney (Karen) Rogers, Gale (David) Langer, Leroy (Edith) Rogers; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.  A funeral service was held Thursday, March 29, 2012 at 11:00 am  at First Lutheran Church in New Richmond.  Visitation was also Thursday from 10-11 am at church.  Interment was in New Richmond Cemetery with military honors provided by the New Richmond American Legion Post #80.  Arrangements are with Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services Beebe Chapel of New Richmond.
