Martha A. Beadles, age 91 of River Falls and formerly of La Canada Flintridge, CA, died Sunday, July 7, 2013 at Kinnic Health and Rehab in River Falls. Martha was born the daughter of Wasil and Tillie (Telisek) Cigan on March 26, 1922 near Gilman, WI. She grew up near Gilman and graduated from Ruby High School. Martha attended nurses training and then went to work at Victory Hospital in Stanley, WI during WWII. Martha and a friend decided they needed a change, a took the train to Los Angeles, CA where they found work at the Hospital of the Good Samaritan. Martha eventually took a job with the City of Los Angeles Medical Services. While there, she met her future husband, Robert H. Beadles who drove an ambulance. They were married in La Jolla, CA. Robert died in 1974 at the age of 74. Martha worked for the city for 38 years while also working at Lincoln Heights Receiving Hospital. She enjoyed gardening and working in her yard. Martha was a strong willed, independant woman who was hardworking and very caring and protective of her family. She was a caregiver her entire life. She is preceded in death by her parents, Wasil and Tillie Cigan; husband, Robert H. Beadles; infant son, Dennis Beadles; siblings, Nick Cigan, Pete Cigan, and Margaret Sloboda. Martha is survived by her sons, Rod (Julie) Beadles and Randy (Heather) Beadles; grandchildren, Jenna Beadles, Kaylee Beadles, Megan Beadles, Shannon Beadles, Tyler Cordes, Christopher Beadles, and Kelsi Beadles; great-grandson, Carter Beadles; and siblings, Joe (Rita) Cigan and Lorraine (Glen) Springer. A Funeral Service was held on Thursday, July 11, 2013 at 11 am at the Bakken-Young Funeral Home in River Falls. Visitation was Thursday from 10-11 am at the funeral home. Interment will be Friday, July 12, 2013 in Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Glendale, CA. Arrangements are with Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services of River Falls.
