Marian Rodewald 02/18/2013

Marian Maxine Rodewald age 85 passed away Monday, February 18, 2013 at the Plum City Care Center where she was a resident for the past five years.  She was born the daughter of Melvin and Jennie (Bolin) Gilbertson on September 8, 1927 in Maiden Rock Township.  Marian was baptized into the Christian faith on May 11, 1938 at Sabylund Lutheran Church.  She attended Pine Creek School and graduated from Maiden Rock High School in 1946.  Marian loved music and played clarinet in the school band.   On June 6, 1953, she married Robert Rodewald in Mantorville, MN.  Throughout the years, the couple owned and operated several businesses together.  Marian also spent some years working at Jostens’s and the Plum City Drug Store.  She enjoyed dancing, reading, and animals.  Most important to her was her family.  She loved time with her family especially Sunday dinners and holidays.  She enjoyed cooking, baking and was an exceptional care giver to those close to her.  Marian is preceded in death by her parents, Melvin and Jennie Gilbertson; husband, Robert Rodewald; brother, Norman Gilbertson; and grandson, Joseph Rodewald.  She is survived by her children, Ricky Rodewald of Tucson, AZ, James (Kathy Jo) Rodester of Lake City, MN, Judy Rodewald of Ellsworth, WI and Brenda (Joseph) Flo of Bay City, WI; grandchildren, Corey Bohmbach, Leann (Andrew) Larson, Eric Rodewald, Ryan Rodewald, Victoria Davis, Spencer Sullivan, Evan Sullivan; great-grandchildren, Kennesy Taylor, Annalise Larson, Tyarn Larson, Sophia Larson, Re’Anna Rodewald, Reese Rodewald, Rozaley Clack; step-grandson, Terry Webster; step great-grandson, Noah Lyttle; sister-in-law, Patricia Gilbertson; many nieces and nephews.  A funeral service was held Thursday, February 21, 2013 at 11:00 am at Bakken-Young Funeral Home in Maiden Rock.  Visitation was also Thursday from 10-11 am before the service.  Spring interment will be in the Maiden Rock Cemetery.  Arrangements are with Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services of Maiden Rock.
