Marilyn Rogers 02/12/2025

Marilyn A. Rogers, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and faithful servant of God, went home to be with Jesus on February 12, 2025, at the age of 86, surrounded by the love and prayers of her family.

Born on March 19, 1938, Marilyn was devoted to her family, faith, and community. She was the cherished wife of Travis Rogers and a devoted mother to her nine children: Deborah, Kathleen, Anne, Colleen, John, Martin, Sheila, Sandra, and Christopher. As a grandmother, she was blessed with 32 grandchildren and 49 great-grandchildren, each bringing her immense joy and pride.

Marilyn is survived by her husband, Travis Rogers, her brothers Jim Cota and Joe Cota, and the father of her children, John M. Carr. She was preceded in death by her parents, Erwin and Lucille Cota; her brothers Don Cota and Bill Cota; her beloved daughters Kathleen and Sandra; and her husband, Cornelius Verhey, who are now reunited with her in heaven.

Marilyn lived a life marked by faith, generosity, and kindness. She was a cornerstone of her community, always ready to offer a helping hand, a warm smile, and words of encouragement. Her home was a haven of love and hospitality, and her steadfast devotion to her Savior was evident in all she did.

Her family takes comfort in knowing she is now reunited with loved ones who have gone before her. Though she will be deeply missed, her legacy of love, faith, and service will continue in the lives of her family and all who were blessed to know her.

A celebration of Marilyn’s life was held on Tuesday, February 18, 2025 at 11 am at Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services 805 E Division Street River Falls, WI.  Visitation was also on Tuesday from 10-11 am at the funeral home.  Interment was in Greenwood Cemetery in River Falls, WI.

Marilyn’s life was a gift to all who knew her, and she left behind a legacy of love and faith that will never be forgotten. As she walks with Jesus in eternal glory, her memory will forever be a source of comfort and inspiration to her family and friends.

“Her children rise up and call her blessed.” – Proverbs 31:28

I only remember meeting Marilyn a of couple times. She was my cousin’s grandma on Anne’s side and me being on Denny’s side. Although, I only met her a couple of times. She helped me accept Jesus as my Lord and Savior when I was 7 years old, which was about 30 years ago. A memory I treasure to this day. Thank you, Lord, for Marilyn and the impact she made to those around her.
