Marilyn Jackola Roetman 04/19/2023

Marilyn Jackola Roetman, age 87, died on Wednesday, April 19, 2023 at her home in New Richmond, WI. She was born the daughter of Hugo & Aili Jackola on June 8, 1935 in Kinney, MN.
She grew up and attended high school in Buhl, MN. Marilyn graduated from Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, MN. While there she met & married Myron (Mike) Sattler. They had three children, Marcy, Mitch & Matt. She later married Homer Roetman.
Marilyn started her career as a teacher and coach at St. Bernard’s High School and finished her career as a Social Worker and retired from The Home of Good Shepard.
She enjoyed spending time outdoors golfing, hiking, camping, canoeing, picking blueberries, attending art fairs and dinners on the porch. She was an avid gardener and a fantastic cook & baker ~ best darn chocolate chip cookies ever! Marilyn was a fan of sports, especially women’s sports, the MN Lynx were her favorite. She enjoyed watching all levels of sports on tv but every Fall Friday night she could be found cheering on the SSP Packer Football team where her son coached.
She is survived by sister; Esther Filson, children; Mitchel Sattler, Matthew (Sheila) Sattler, son-in-law, Ron Trumble, grandchildren; Jessica (Allen) Carpentier, Kylie Sattler, Sydney (Joe) Sherwood, Madison (Sam Reali) Sattler, Anna Sattler, along with many other family members and friends.
She is preceded in death by parents; Hugo and Aili Jackola, husband; Homer Roetman, father of children; Myron (Mike) Sattler, sister; Eileen Koski, brother-in-law; Gerald Filson and daughter; Marcy Trumble.
A Celebration of Marilyn’s Life was held on Sunday, April 30, 2023 at 3 pm at House of Prayer Lutheran Church 6039 40th Street N Oakdale, MN.  Visitation was also on Sunday from 2-3 pm at the church.  Memorial gifts can be made to the House of Prayer Lutheran Church.   Cremation provided by Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services.

    I’m so sorry for your loss. Marilyn and I were classmates and good friends in school in Buhl. This was such a beautiful memorial for her. May she rest in peace. God Bless you all.
