Mariellen G. Krueger, 80 of Somerset, WI, passed away on Thursday, April 10, 2014 at the Deerfield Gables Care Center. Mariellen was born in Nobles County, MN on April 21, 1933. Mariellen attended Fulda High School where she met her husband, Bert. Mariellen and Bert were married on September 9, 1954. They began their life together as newlyweds in Alaska where Bert was stationed with the U.S. Army Security Agency. Later they moved to the family farm in Fulda. In 1968 Mariellen and Bert moved to Wisconsin. Mariellen worked for the St. Croix Falls Hospital, King Koil Mattress Co., American Hoist, Derrick Inc., and the Hudson Medical Center in various administrative offices. Mariellen loved to read and play cribbage with her husband. Her greatest joy was having her children and grandchildren over and cooking for them. Her favorite pastime was sitting in her rocking chair with a grandchild. Mariellen is preceded in death by her parents, Lee and Hazel Green; siblings, Harlan, James, Elizabeth, and Richard; daughter-in-law, Debbie Krueger; and great-grandchildren, Jacob Hayman and Madeline Gessner. Mariellen is survived by husband, Bert; children, Bob Krueger of Somerset, Tom Krueger of New Richmond, Linda (Bob) Harmon of New Brighton, MN, David (Becky) Krueger of Pittsburgh, PA, Laura Jo (John) Jarchow of New Richmond; grandchildren, Jeremy, Chad, Jessica, Emily, Amanda, Margaret, William, Stuart, Carrie, Adam, Meredith; many great-grandchildren; and sister, Margery Geiler. Mass of Christian Burial was Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at St. Anne Catholic Church, 121 Church Hill Rd., Somerset, WI, with visitation one hour prior to the funeral. Interment was in St. Anne’s Cemetery. Arrangements are in care of Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services Beebe Chapel of New Richmond.
