Marie Mackey 06/23/2011

Marie Newville Mackey, age 88 of New Richmond, died on Thursday, June 23, 2011 at Westfields Hospital in New Richmond.  She was born October 28, 1922 in Huntingdon, WI to Axel and Josephine (LaVenture) Larson.  She attended school in New Richmond.  On April 15, 1939, Marie married George O. Newville in New Richmond.  To this union four children were born.  In 1976 she married Harold Mackey in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.  Marie worked at various jobs.  She retired from Doboy (now Bosch) in January 1988, then retired from the Family Fresh Bakery in September 2010.  Marie enjoyed reading, sewing, making memory bears, and flowers, but most of all she enjoyed her family.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Axel and Josephine Larson; step-father, William Kuehl; husbands, George Newville and Harold Mackey; infant granddaughter, Stacey Johnson; and siblings, Bernice Potter Bailey, Anna Mae Larson, Robert Larson, Axel “Duck” Larson, and Allen “Egg” Larson.  Marie is survived by her children, Jackie (Chuck) Nutzmann, Georgeann (Bob) Crotty, Sharon (Eldon) Johnson, and Robert Newville; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 3 great great-grandchildren; step-children, Nancy (Bill) Skadden, Terry (Cathy) Mackey, Ruth (Dennis) Phillipi, and Mike (Karen) Mackey; many step-grandchildren; siblings, Vernon “Butch” (Marion) Larson, Douglas “Super” (MaryAnn) Larson, Tom (Mary) Larson, and Barbara Thorton; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.  A funeral service was held Monday, June 27, 2011 at 11:00 am at Trinity Lutheran Church in Hammond.  Visitation was Sunday, June 26, 2011 from 4-8 pm at Bakken-Young Funeral Home Beebe Chapel in New Richmond and on Monday from 10-11 am at church.  Interment will be in  the New Richmond Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.  Arrangements were with Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services of New Richmond.
