Margy Lundell 09/21/2012

Margy B. Lundell age 90  of New Richmond passed away Friday, September 21, 2012 at The Deerfield Gables in New Richmond.  She was born the daughter of Elmer and Millie (Swanson) Skagen on June 20, 1922 in Emerald, WI.  Margy graduated from Glenwood City High School in 1939 and graduated from UW-River Falls in 1943 with a degreee in music education.  On December 25, 1943, she married Harold “Dedo” Lundell in Jonesboro, AR.  She started teaching in Superior, but spent most of her career teaching Orchestra in the New Richmond School system, retiring in 1981.  In retirement she and Dedo enjoyed traveling all over the world with Las Vegas being a favorite spot.  Margy also enjoyed playing cards and taking casino bus trips with her friends,  as well as agate hunting, volunteering at “The Barn” at The Heritage Center  and playing in the UWRF and 3M Orchestras.  For many years, Margy taught piano and violin lessons from her home.  She was an active member of the New Richmond United Methodist Church.  She will be missed by her sons, Eric (Laurel) Lundell of Hudson, Chris Lundell of New Richmond; grandchildren, Kristi (Jason) Rogers, Emily (Cory) Fett, Christopher (Noelle Niermann) Lundell, Eric Lundell, Jr.; great-granddaughters, Jordan and Riley Fett; dear friends, Mabel Arnquist and Jennifer Boucher; daughter-in-law, Rose Lundell; many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Millie Skagen; husband, Harold “Dedo” Lundell; infant daughter, Lynn Lundell; siblings, Earl Skagen, Lawrence Skagen and Lucille Skagen Pugh.  A funeral service was held Friday, September 28, 2012 at 11:00 am at the New Richmond United Methodist Church with Pastor Cathy Hamblin officiating.  Music was provided by Jerri Rang and violinist Jim Saliny.  Visitation was held Thursday, September 27, 2012 from 4:00-8:00 pm at Bakken-Young’s Beebe Chapel in New Richmond and also Friday from 9:00-11:00 am at the church.  The interment was in the New Richmond Cemetery with Christopher Lundell, Eric Lundell, Jr., Jason Rogers, Cory Fett, Jeff Pugh and Cliff Skagen as the pallbearers.  Honorary pallbearers were Kristi Rogers, Emily Fett, Jack Schuldt and Harvey Gleason.  Arrangements are with Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services Beebe Chapel of New Richmond
