Margene Mayer 11/27/2022

Margene Viola Mayer was born May 2^nd, 1941, in Tipton, Iowa to parents Nelba and Leonard Soppe. She died unexpectedly Sunday November 27, 2022. Margene lived in her home in Somerset Wisconsin where she enjoyed seeing wildlife, and the flowers blooming throughout the changing seasons. She is preceded in death by her parents, brother Donavon Soppe and son Michael Mayer. She is survived by daughters Deborah Mayer, Margene (Paul) Westmoreland, grandsons Luke and Josh Westmoreland and granddaughter Emma Westmoreland all of Somerset, Wisconsin. Granddaughter Amanda (Ken) DeWulf, great-grandchildren Charlette and Nolan DeWulf of Maquoketa, Iowa. Son Mark (Cathy) Mayer, grandchildren Justin (Tina), Michael, Annie, Abbi Mayer, and great grandchild Kayleigh Mayer all of Mississippi. There are many other special people that made an impact on Margene’s life. Early in her working career she did factory work, of which she was particularly proud of the work she did on components for the Apollo 11 Space Mission. After raising her children, she became a nurse, making a career of it for more than 20 years. On a normal day you could find Margene sitting in her chair watching cooking shows and playing games on pogo, but she loved spending time with and going on outings and vacations with her family. A private family celebration will be held in May in honor of her Birthday. Although Margene has passed, her love will remain with us forever. She will be remembered always.
