Marcella Larson 02/13/2014

 

Marcella Spreeman Larson, age 73 of Star Prairie, died peacefully on Thursday, February 13, 2014 at her home.  Marcella was born the daughter of Ben and Arlyene (Imire) Spreeman on November 1, 1940 in the town of Stanton, WI.  The family moved to Huntington, and Marcella attended Star Prairie elementary and New Richmond High School graduating with the class of 1958.  After high school, she worked as a telephone operator in New Richmond.  On October 8, 1960 she married Roger A. Larson.  Roger and Marcella were in automobile accident in 1971 that took Roger’s life.  She raised their three children on the farm near Deer Park.  On February 1, 1976, Marcella married Roger G. Larson at Bethany Lutheran Church in Star Prairie.  She was active in her circle at church and with the local Homemakers group.  She enjoyed doing crafts.  Crocheting, ceramics, painting, and making numerous doll dresses throughout the years.  Marcella had a lot of fun traveling.  She and Roger traveled to all 50 states and beyond.  She especially enjoyed spoiling their dog Sally.  Marcella is preceded in death by her parents, Ben and Arlyene Spreeman; husband, Roger A. Larson; daughter-in-law, Anna Larson.  She is survived by husband, Roger G. Larson; children, Mike Larson, Julie (Jim) Howe, Steve Larson, Jodie (Kurt) Helmrick, Skip Larson; grandchildren, David Larson, LeeAnn (Tim) Heeren, Mandy (Nick) Atzmiller, James (Tracy) Howe, Ben Helmrick, Jacob Helmrick. great-grandchildren, Chase, Reese, and Brynn Atzmiller, and Jack and Zoe Howe; sisters, Virginia Spreeman, Kathleen (John) Weaver; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.  A Memorial Service was held Thursday, February 20, 2014 at 11 am at Bethany Lutheran Church 415 Bridge Avenue Star Prairie, WI.  Memorial visitation was also Thursday from 10-11 am at the church.  Memorials may be directed to Bethany Lutheran Church.  Arrangements are with Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services Beebe Chapel of New Richmond.
