Louis Tolvanen 06/14/2021

Louis Tolvanen, age 69, died on Monday, June 14, 2021 at Parkview Community Campus in Woodville. He was born the son of Edwin and Bette Tolvanen on June 19, 1951 in Saint Petersburg, Florida. He grew up in Miami, graduating from Miami Edison High School, class of 1969. Louis attended college in the upper peninsula in Michigan when he met Debrah Pelkola. They married on November 28, 1970 in Ironwood, Michigan. Louis worked for 27 years in the Iron Range in Minnesota and later worked as a welder and fabricator at Superior Minerals in Savage, Minnesota. He was a carpenter and woodworker. Louis loved fishing. He was outgoing, friendly, and caring.
Louis is preceded in death by his parents, Edwin and Bette; parents-in-law, Eugene and Helvie Pelkola; grandson, Timothy Monio Jr. He is survived by his wife, Debrah; children, Michael (Heather), Benjamin (Karen), Amanda (Tim) Monio; grandchildren, Camden, Noel, Tyler, and Gabe; sister, Pat (George) Jarkesy; and many other relatives and friends. Private family gathering will be held at later date. Cremation Services provided by Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services.
