Lottie Fatheree

Lottie Marie (Bursch) Fatheree, age 97, of Somerset, WI, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 21, 2020 at St. Croix Health Center.

Lottie was born to the late Henry and Amelia Bursch, May 26, 1923 in Burkhardt, WI on the family farm.  Lottie graduated from Stillwater High School.  After high school Lottie moved to Seattle, WA in 1943 to join the war effort manufacturing Boeing B-17 bombers.  In Seattle is where she met and married her husband of 66 years, Sgt. William (Dub) R. Fatheree of Roswell, New Mexico on July 21, 1944.

After the war Dub and Lottie moved to Roswell, New Mexico to start their family.  Soon after they relocated to Wisconsin ultimately settling down in Houlton where Dub found employment with Northern States Power (NSP) and Lottie settled in as a homemaker.

Lottie was an active member of the Christ Lutheran Church and an Auxiliary Member of The American Legion Post 111 in Somerset, WI.  Lottie enjoyed cooking, knitting and gardening.  Lottie was a loving and caring mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Lottie is survived by her three children Trudy Eck, Bill Fatheree and Earl Fatheree; her six grandchildren, Tamara Eck, Melissa Eck, Justin (Krista) Fatheree, Billie Jo Fatheree (Ferrance Barton), Amy (Jake) Determann and Bobbie Jo (John) Hanson; and her nine great-grandchildren, Mariunn Davis, Vaughn Fatheree, Vienna Fatheree, Vayda Fatheree, Samuel Determann, Clayton Determann, Dylann Barton, Ryann Barton and Devyn Determann.

Lottie was preceded in death by her husband, William; her siblings Harvey, Laverne, Floyd and Dennis; and her parents.

Lottie’s family would like to thank the staff of the Lakeview Hospice Program, especially Mary Gilkerson, for their tender care these recent weeks and months.

A Celebration of Life will take place Saturday, September 12th at 1 p.m. at Emmanuel Lutheran Cemetery, 1554 County Road V, Somerset, WI  54025.  A gathering will follow immediately following the celebration at The American Legion Post 111.
