Lorraine Larson 06/18/2013

Lorraine M. Larson, age 87 of New Richmond, died Tuesday, June 18, 2013 at the St. Croix Health Center in New Richmond.  Lorraine was born the daughter of Henry and Ella (Kastens) Studtmann on February 12, 1926 in Star Prairie Township, St. Croix County, Wisconsin.  She grew up on farms around the Amery area, graduating from Amery High School with the class of 1943.  Lorraine worked in the Twin Cities for a few years.  On June 1, 1946, she married LeRoy V. Larson at the Redeemer Lutheran Church parsonage in Amery.  She went to work at Doughboy in the plastics division until they were phased out.  She worked as a clerk at Larson’s Hardware for a short time before going back to Doughboy were she worked until retiring in 1994.  Lorraine was active in 4-H, Girl Scouts, and at West Immanuel Lutheran Church with the Altar Guild and Quilters.  She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, and other crafts as well as tending to her yard and flowers.  Lorraine was a strong woman who was kind, compassionate, and always available to her family and friends.  She is preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Ella Studtmann; brother, Walter Studtmann; and sisters, Edna Moe, Olga Derosier, Norma Albrecht, and Alvera Fredrick.  Lorraine is survived by her children, Lauralynn “Lolly” (Richard) Luehmann and Jeffery (Jody) Larson; grandchildren, Michael “Mic” (Leya) Luehmann, Wendy Luehmann, David (Katie) Larson, Raymond Larson, Daniel Larson, Mark Larson; great-grandchildren, Chandler Canopy, Evan Luehmann, Conner Luehmann; brothers, Edmond Studtmann and Verlin Studtmann; sisters, Mildred Jenderny and Leona Audette.   A Memorial Service was held Monday, June 24, 2013 at 11 am at West Immanuel Lutheran Church.  Memorial Visitation was Sunday, June 23, 2013 from 4-8 pm at the Bakken-Young Beebe Chapel in New Richmond and on Monday from 10-11 am at the church.  Interment was in West Immanuel Cemetery.  Arrangements are with Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services Beebe Chapel of New Richmond.
