Lois J. Cody, age 87, of New Richmond died Sunday, August 26, 2018 at the Deerfield Gables Care Center. She was born March 28, 1931 in Paynesville, MN the daughter of William and Alice O’Brien. She attended school in Minneapolis and as a young adult she worked as a waitress and a store clerk.
Lois married Bill Gray and the couple lived in St. Paul with their daughter, Penny until the family moved to New Richmond in the early sixties. She was a stay at home mother for several years. Years later, she married Gene Cody and enjoyed many happy years. When she returned to work, she worked at local businesses. Her favorite jobs were at Herbergers and at Curves where she was the manager.
Lois cherished her family and loved spending time with them. She is survived by children, Karen (Rick) Burd, Penny (Gary) Bethke, Bill (Cindy) Bonar; step-children, Gerald Cody and Gregory (Karen) Cody; siblings, Bob (Jackie) O’Brien, Ardis Nelson; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husbands, William Gray and Eugene Cody; children, Lisa Gray, Susie Gray, and Brenda Danielson. A private family service will be held at a later date.
