Logan Wrich 01/22/2024

Logan Paul Wrich passed away peacefully at home with his loyal dog Louis, at his side.  Logan was only 35, and was physically stronger than most, until a short bout of pneumonia took his breath away.

Logan was born on January 13, 1989 to Paul and JoAnn Wrich, and was the oldest of three children.  He spent the first part of his life in White Bear Lake, Minnesota, until the family moved to New Richmond, Wisconsin.  After high school Logan earned an associates degree in engineering and worked in the manufacturing field for many years. His coworkers at Northern Metal Fab enjoyed Logan’s jovial nature and willingness to help others.

The engineering career suited Logan, as he was always interested in how things worked.  He was not afraid to take things apart and tinker with them to improve performance.

He was an avid deer hunter, enjoying the time with his brother, uncle and beloved grandfather, as well as dear family friends.  The outdoors called to him, both in the woods and out on a lake.

He also enjoyed time at the family cabin on White Ash Lake.  He was key to getting the work done, whether it was getting docks in, clearing trees downed by a tornado, or building a bunk room in the shed.  Weekends at the cabin won’t be the same without Logan.

In 2020, Logan purchased a home in Glenwood City, where he had many sheds and barns to work on his vehicles and toys. Although he spent a considerable amount of time battling the poison ivy on his property, he enjoyed making his place a home for him and Louis.  He was becoming a great cook, sharing the passion for cooking and smoking meat with his brother Seth.

Logan had a special relationship with his sister Allie, chatting every day as they supported each other’s interests and challenges.  He counted on his close friend, Ben Brabec, to be there for whatever opportunities for fun came up or whenever there was a motor to be fixed.

Logan is survived by his mother, JoAnn, his brother Seth and sister Allie, as well as dozens of cousins, many aunts and uncles, and countless friends.  He sadly said goodbye at a young age to his father, Paul,  who tragically passed away when Logan was only 18, and more recently to his grandparents Fred and Ruby Wrich, and Red and Pat Thompson, as well as his uncle Tom Wrich.

A celebration of Logan’s life included a funeral mass at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in New Richmond on Monday, January 29, 2024 at 12 p.m.  A visitation was held from 3 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, January 28, 2024, at the Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services (728 S Knowles Ave) as well as the hour prior to the service at the church.

Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers.

Arrangements are with Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services.

Joann , Seth and Allie. It’s with a heavy heart that I write this as I’m still in shock over Logan’s passing, I just spent the weekend with Loags on one of our gym floor tear outs that he really liked helping us out with. He never shied away from work and he was strong as an ox. Logan was a joy to have along on those jobs and he will really be missed. I’m just glad I could spend 10 hrs driving with him to Grand Forks and back to get caught up on his life. He talked about his family a great deal and it was always a pleasure to listen to him. I’m so sorry for the loss of Logan I really can’t imagine how you and his two siblings are feeling, I know I will really miss his company and work ethic on our next job.

    Jo, Seth, Allie,

We are so sad about this. White Ashe Lake will never be what it was without Logan and his shenanigans! He was a one of a kind person with a huge heart. Losing him surely breaks a lot of hearts including ours. Our deepest sympathies.

    Joann,
I am so sorry to hear about Logan’s passing. I have fond memories watching Logan playing in your garage tangling Pauls fishing poles when we lived across the street from you in White Bear. I hope some time Julie and I can get caught up with you.
    God Bless You.
