Lillian Angeline (nee Cadwell) Jorgenson, age 100, of Hammond passed away on Sunday, March 24, 2019 at Parkview Nursing Home in Woodville. She was born March 10, 1919 in Glenwood City the daughter to Charles and Sanna (Johnson) Cadwell. Lillian attended Maple Grove Elementary and graduated from Glenwood City High School. She married Jens Z. Jensen and to this union five children were born; Louise, Jens, Hugh, Kathleen, and Luverne Micheal. Lillian lost her husband, Jens in 1949. Over the years, she continued farming, raising the children and also took a job at Smead. She worked at Smead in River Falls and Hastings for 25+ years. In December 1966, Lillian married John S. Jorgenson. In her retirement years, she found great joy in quilting. She enjoyed sharing her work with family and friends and she also donated hundreds of quilts to Gillette Children’s Hospital until her eyesight failed from macular degeneration. Lillian is preceded in death by her parents; two husbands; all of her siblings; her children, Louise Gonia, Jens Jensen, Hugh Jensen and L. Micheal Jensen; and as well as her granddaughter, Dawn Jensen. She is survived by her daughter, Kathleen Jensen; grandchildren, Kay (Paul Ehrhardt) Jensen, Kim Stanley, Jerry (Mary Stuart) Jensen, Mike (Pam Westra) Jensen, Kevin (Stacie Venhor) Jensen, Troy (Kathy Ness) Jensen, Heather (Jon) Boorman; great-grandchildren, Isaac and Sarah Ehrhardt, Courtney and Alexander Stanley, Jordan Jensen, Logan and Luke Jensen, Ethan, Joe, Lucy, Alice and Silas Jensen, Conner, Kaelyn and Charlie Boorman; daughters-in-law, Pam and Mary Jensen; nieces, nephews and friends. A funeral service was held Friday, March 29, 2019 at 11:00 am at Trinity Lutheran Church (1250 Broadway St.) in Hammond. Visitation was also Friday from 10-11 am at the church. Interment was in Peace Lutheran Church Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to St. Croix Central backpack program. Arrangements are with Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services.
