Lester Everson WebsiteLester Ernest Everson, age 96 of rural Osceola, died Wednesday, June 22, 2016 at his home.  Lester was born the son of Edwin and Bertha (Kluss) Everson on November 19, 1919 on the family farm in the town of Alden, Polk County, Wisconsin.  He attended the Cedar Lake School.  Lester started farming in 1945 and retired in 1990.  He served on the Alden Town Board, and the Bethany Lutheran Church Council, where he was life long member.  Lester delivered Meals on Wheels, worked at the Recycling Center at the town hall, and was a member of The Sons of Norway.  He was the primary care giver for his mother, Bertha for 21 years.  Lester enjoyed farming, gardening, fishing, taking long walks, and trapping pocket gophers.  He was hardworking, honest man who was generous and faithful.  He is preceded in death by his parents, Edwin and Bertha Everson; brothers, George (Patsy), Irving, Merlin (Mary Lou), Arthur (Edy); sisters, Anna (Laurence) Johnson, Gladys (George) Heichel; brother-in-law, Neil Ausen; and nieces and nephews, Curtis Everson, Neil Johnson, Lois Erickson, and Deborah Krueger.  Lester in survived by his brother, Floyd (Judy); sisters, Blanche Ausen, Ruby (Orvin) Luehman; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.    A Funeral Service was held on Tuesday, June 28, 2016 at 11 am at Bethany Lutheran Church 415 Bridge Avenue Star Prairie, WI.  Visitation was held on Monday, June 27, 2016 from 5-8 pm at Bethany Lutheran Church and on Tuesday from 10-11 am.  Interment was in Oakland Cemetery in Star Prairie, WI.  Pallbearers are Calvin Everson, Scott Ausen, Barry Ausen, Rodney Everson, Dennis Luehman, Jon Everson, Rick Brandt, Trevor Everson, Jerry Heichel.  Honorary Pallbearers are Mike Barney, Tom Fleming, David Larson, Sam Piemonty.  Memorials will be directed to Bethany Lutheran Church.  Arrangements are with Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services Beebe Chapel of New Richmond.

    RIP sweet man. You will be missed. You taught many of us lessons on warmth, kindness, strength, fight and certainly faith. May you now rest in God’s eternal peace.
