Lena Frankwick 05/10/2011

Lena Frankwick age 96 of Star Prairie died Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at Westfields Hospital in New Richmond.  She was born the daughter of Fred and Martha (Kolbe) Radke on June 3, 1914 in rural St. Croix County.  Lena was a member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church and enjoyed baking bread, cakes and pies.  She loved having company and planting flowers around the outside of her house.  Lena also enjoyed pets, especially when her son Arthur would bring is Boston terrier named Chaya over to her house.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Steve Frankwick; 3 brothers, Arthur, Henry and Ernest Radke; 2 sisters, Marie Geotchel, Amanda Dahlke and step-grandson, Matthew Thompson.  Lena is survived by her son, Arthur (Roxann) Sawyer; many nieces, nephews, step-grandchildren, relatives and friends.  A funeral service was held Saturday, May 14, 2011 at 1:00 pm at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in New Richmond.  Visitation was also Saturday from 11:00-1:00 pm before the service at church.  Interment was in Emmanuel Lutheran Church Cemetery in rural Somerset.  Arrangements are with Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services Beebe Chapel of New Richmond.
