LaRue Williams Palmer, Sr. age 50, died suddenly Monday 3 January of a massive heart attack at his home in Somerset, WI.. Born in Washington. D .C. on December 7, 1960, the eldest son of James D. Palmer of West River, MD and Mary Gilbert Palmer of Richmond, UT. Palmer attended the D. C. public schools, and was a graduate of Sandy Spring’s Friends School and the St. Paul Technical School for the Deaf. He is survived by his parents, his wife Marie Palmer, four sons LaRue W. Palmer, Jr., L. J. Palmer, Christopher Gordon (Stephanie), Joshua Gordon, and one granddaughter. An ardent outdoors’ man, fishing, hunting, camping, boating and good friends kept Palmer and his family in and around St Paul for all of his adult life. He worked as a skilled commercial painter, was a member of the dart tournament league, a volunteer for the Somerset Football program, as well as an accomplished chef, an in–demand karaoke singer, and a competitive fisherman. In 1999 he took the first kill of the fall deer hunt in St. Croix County. LaRue’s untimely death creates a huge loss for his family, friends and community. Funeral services were held Friday 7 January at 11:00 a.m. in New Richmond, WI at Bakken-Young’s Beebe Mortuary. Visitation was Thursday 6 January from 5:00 – 8:00p.m. and at 10:00 a. m.
