Kristy M. Owen 03/01/2021

Kristy “Kris” Marie Owen passed away peacefully in her sleep on March 1, 2021. Kris was born in Stillwater MN on July 17, 1968 to James Deal and Debra Deal. Kris raised three beautiful children, Brian, Stephanie, and Karri. She found the love of her life, Tami in 2000. Soon after they moved to Madison, WI and built a beautiful life together, which included traveling and many adventures, filled with love and laughter along the way. In 2020, they moved to Spooner, WI in order to be closer to family. Kris graduated from River Falls High School in 1986. She later returned to school at Anoka Ramsey Technical College, to obtain her degree as a Registered Nurse. Kris was most known for her smile that would light up a room, as well as her quick wit, and compassion that had no end. One of her greatest achievements was caring for others, which is why she chose the profession as a Registered Nurse. She touched many lives throughout her career, providing hope and compassion to all those she encountered. Another passion included her love for animals, and a knack to pick the dogs with the most “colorful personalities”. Her beautiful life will be cherished by her wife, Tami Soleim; parents, James and Debra Deal; sister, Amy (Doug) Groth; children, Brian (Abbey) Owen, Stephanie (Darby Obrien) Owen, Karri Riedel; her step daughter, Britni (Tim) Stinson; and grandchildren, Jackson, new baby girl due in April, Haydyn, Zachary, and Harlie; nephews and nieces, Hunter, Abby, Chole, and Owen; as well as many uncles, aunts, and cousins.  She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Harold and Josephine Deal and Everett and Bernice Sommers; uncle, Ron; aunts, Linda, Cindy, and Cathy; granddaughter, Carsin Stinson; mother-in-law, Shelly Meyers; and nephew, Blake Seamonson.  A Celebration of Kristy’s Life was held on Sunday, March 7, 2021 from 11 am – 1 pm with a brief prayer service at 1 pm at Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services 728 S Knowles Avenue New Richmond, WI 54017.In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred. Kristy was one of my closest friends in grade school and we spent many hours at eachothers homes. I was fortunate enough to reconnect with her in 2017. She had a great sense of humor and even when the chips were down she made light of it. She loved her wife, furbabies and her family deeply. My condolences to Tami and the kids and the Deal family. I will miss her sarcasm and her sense of humor. I wish I could attend the celebration of life but I have moved out of the area.. Tami and her family will be in my thoughts and prayers!
