Kenneth Lokhorst 03/23/2018

Kenneth Lyle Lokhorst, age 87, of New Richmond passed on Friday, March 23, 2018 at the Deerfield Gables Care Center. He was born the son of Klaas and Esther (Vanderlaan) Lokhorst on August 6, 1930 in River Falls. Ken attended school in Baldwin and graduated from Baldwin High School. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. After returning from military service, he married Geraldine Wahl on October 10, 1953 at Woodside Lutheran Church. Ken went to the Minnesota School of Business and followed with a career in management. He was an active and faithful member of Bethany Lutheran Church. Ken loved playing golf and enjoyed working at the New Richmond Golf Course in his retirement. He was a loving husband, father, brother and devoted son. Ken is survived by his wife of 64 years, Gerry; daughters, Valerie Lokhorst, Cheryl (Ron) Skaggs, Michele (Tom) Robinson, and Denise (Peter Rittenhouse) Lokhorst; brother, Ronald (Karen) Lokhorst; cherished nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Klaas and Esther; and sister, Doris Jean Lokhorst. A memorial service was held Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at 11:00 at Bethany Lutheran Church in Star Prairie. Visitation was also Tuesday from 10-11 am at the church. Private family interment took place at Baldwin Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
