Kathryn Panasuk 05/17/2019

Kathryn Ann Panasuk, 73, died Friday, May 17, 2019. She was born on February 18, 1946 to Alex J. and Harriette Panasuk in Mineral Wells, TX, where Alex was stationed in the U.S. Army at Camp Wolters. After WWII, the Panasuk family began farming in Comstock, outside of Moorhead, MN. She graduated from Barnesville High School in 1964, and also attended Minnesota State, Moorhead. In 1968, she went to work for Centurytel (then-AT&T) in operator services in Fargo, ND. She transferred to Minneapolis and was among the first women to take the company’s training to become a network technician, placing and repairing aerial service wire and installing phone service in the Twin Cities area and then in Loveland, CO. After working for the United Stated Post Office, Kathy retired in 2002 to Plymouth, MN. She was an avid animal lover and, in retirement, free-lanced as a pet-sitter, spent time with family, and traveled. In 2017, following an illness, she moved to an assisted living community in New Richmond, WI. She was preceded in death by parents and is survived by Steven (brother) and Joyce Panasuk, New Richmond; Anthony Panasuk, Colorado; and Julie (sister) and John Michener, Minneapolis; as well as twin nephews, Jeremy and Jason Panasuk, New Richmond, and niece, Kimberly Parker, Colorado. She has been cremated and in a private service, her remains will be interred at a family park in Sand Creek, WI. Cremation services provided by Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services.

You’re in our hearts forever Katie! Your laugh was so infectious and your love for animals was something both we, Louie and Scooter treasured. You are missed!
