Kathleen “Kat” Brossmer, age 62, of New Richmond died peacefully on Tuesday, November 26, 2019 at her home surrounded by family and friends. Kat was born the daughter to Norbert and Kathleen (O’Connor) Brossmer on June 12, 1957 in Chicago, IL.Kat earned master’s degrees in Social Work and Counseling and was a middle school counselor at St. Croix Central. She married Robert “Batch” Baczynski on November 28, 1981 in Chicago. Kat brought so much joy and love to all who crossed her path. She will be remembered for her grace, kindness, faith, big heart, compassion, generosity, amazing spirit, positive outlook. Her smile and twinkling blue eyes brought such a sparkle to the room and she will live on in the hearts of all those she touched. She is survived by her husband Batch and two beautiful children, Allie and Evan, parents Norbert and Kathleen (O’Connor) Brossmer, sister Nadine Davis, brother Jerry Brossmer and numerous nieces and nephews. Kat is preceded in death by her Aunts and Uncles Patricia O’Connor, Geraldine Boyle (Elmer) Schiefer, Florence (William) Struthers, Mary Ellen (Albert) Lambert, Raymond (Iva Katherine) Brossmer and Doris Brossmer. A Memorial Mass was held on Sunday, December 29 at 1pm at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in New Richmond, WI. Cremation services provided by Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services.

Such a sad piece of news. She was the happiest and bightest part of my days at and years after Marian CHS! As hapens all too often, we lost touch and now to find this out…so sad. My heart goes out to all who knew her. Our lives are beter for having the joy of her company.
Thanks kathy for some of the best years of my life!
