Karen Williams 07/11/2018

Karen L. Williams, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend passed away peacefully surrounded by family on July 11, 2018 at Regions Hospital in St. Paul, she was 76 years old. Karen was born on December 24, 1941 to Murlen and Viola Stoldorf in Morris, MN. Karen grew up on a farm in rural Morris along with her 2 brothers and sister. She graduated from Morris High School in 1959. Karen met Neil, the love of her life and they were married on April 13, 1963. Early in their marriage they spent time in Rhode Island and Virginia while Neil was enlisted in the US Navy. In 1967 they settled in River Falls and raised their 4 children, 2 daughters and 2 sons. Karen enjoyed many years as a homemaker while her children were young while also providing child care in their home. Later when her children were school age, she began working outside the home until she and Neil retired in 2001. Karen enjoyed many hobbies including sewing, gardening, teaching Sunday school, bowling on the ladies State Bank Team and couples leagues, reading and shopping. She was her kid’s biggest fan and loved to cheer for them at their games and events. Her grandchildren meant the world to her and she always cherished the time spent with them. In 2006, Karen began having health issues and eventually required a kidney transplant. She received the gift of life in 2008 from her sister in law and dear friend Gloria. Over the years, through the many ups and downs with her health issues Karen remained positive and strong and will always be an inspiration to her family for this reason.  Karen was preceded in death by her parents, Murlen and Viola; Brother, Richard Stoldorf ; Sister, Carol Miner. Karen will remain forever in the hearts of her husband of 55 years, Neil; children, Rhonda (Steve James), Shelly (Joe) Killian, Jay Williams, Matt Williams; Brother, Dean (Gloria) Stoldorf; grandchildren, Lacey and Luke Killian; Zackary and Brendan Williams; many special in-laws, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Karen’s celebration of life was held on Monday, July 16, 2018 at First Congregational Church 110 N. 3rd St. River Falls, WI 54022, with a service at 11:00 am, visitation 2 hours prior, 9:00-11:00 am and lunch at the church after the service.  Arrangements are with Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services of River Falls.
