Karen E. Larson 12/13/2023

Karen E. Larson, 80, of River Falls, WI, passed away Wednesday, December 13, 2023, at the Hudson Hospital in Hudson, WI. Karen was born the daughter of Gordon and Inez (Hocking) Peterson on July 30, 1943, in River Falls, WI. She grew up in River Falls, graduating from River Falls High School with the class of 1961. Karen was active in the marching band, choir and 4H. On February 3, 1962, she married LeRoy Larson at Rush River Lutheran Church. Following the wedding, the couple relocated to Lakewood, WA where they would live temporarily until LeRoy completed his service in the military. The young family returned home to River Falls and began raising their family. Karen held secretary positions with various companies in River Falls, ending her career in the purchasing department at UWRF. She spent countless hours following and supporting her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren in their sporting activities. Karen enjoyed puzzles, pontoon rides, coloring on her tablet, and playing gambling machines. She was meticulous about a clean house and was an expert at folding laundry. Karen was a loving and affectionate wife, mom, grandma, and great-grandma – so much so that her nickname could’ve been hugs. Karen is preceded in death by her parents, Gordon and Inez Peterson; brother, Jerry Peterson; and aunt and uncle, Lois (Bud) Holmes. Karen is survived by her husband, LeRoy Larson; sons, Ricky (Jean) Larson, Randy (Kari) Larson, Troy Larson; grandchildren, Jordon (Stephanie) Larson, Reid (Ashley) Larson, Riley Larson, Ashley Larson, Matt (Alicia) Hefti, Jaxin Larson, Jadin Larson; great-grandchildren, Ryker, Graydon, and Ricky Sue Larson, and Kylenn, Mavelynn and Sylas Larson; siblings, Marilyn Weiss, Dale (Debbie) Peterson; sister-in-law, Carol Peterson; and many nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends. A Celebration of Karen’s Life was held on Thursday, December 21, 2023, from 3-7 PM at Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services 805 E Division Street River Falls, WI. Arrangements are with Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services.
