Julian King 06/12/2021

Julian E. King, age 80 of New Richmond, WI, died Saturday, June 12, 2021 at the St. Croix Health Center in New Richmond.  Julian was born the son of Julian Sr. and Irene (Compton) King on December 22, 1940 in Ashland, WI.  He served in the Army during the Korean Conflict.  Julian was married to Lois Mehrkens on June 14, 1986 at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in New Richmond.  He worked for Northern Metals, KTek, Yellow Lake Golf Course, and The Hole in the Wall Casino in Danbury, WI.  Julian enjoyed being at the lake, fishing, playing cards and camping.  He loved giving the grandchildren rides on the pontoon and sitting around the campfire with family and friends.  He is preceded in death by his parents, Julian and Irene King; brothers, Alan (Harold) and Cecil; and sisters, Barb and Cecelia.  Julian is survived by his wife, Lois King; children, Ken (Aimee) King, Wendy (Gary) Swanson, David Voght, Wayne (Lisa) Voght and Pam (Kelvin) Kjellberg; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; brothers, Dick, Derald, Louie, and Wayne; sisters, Bea, Donna, and Debbie; and many nieces and nephews.  A Memorial Service was held on Thursday, June 24, 2021 at 11 am at Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services 728 S Knowles Avenue New Richmond, WI.  Visitation was also on Thursday from 10-11 am at the funeral home.  Interment was at 3 pm on Thursday, June 24, 2021 at the Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Spooner, WI.  Arrangements are with Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services.
