Judy-Anne Frances Hayes Reinstra, age 79 died November 30, 2019, surrounded by her family in New Richmond Wisconsin.

Judy is survived by her husband Llewellyn Roger Reinstra, New Richmond; daughter Kathleen (Reinstra) Enders, son in law Paul Enders, of Waukesha WI, son Mark Reinstra, daughter in law Susan (Pasquinelli) Reinstra of Menlo Park CA, son Brian Reinstra, and daughter in law Kathy (Ferry) Reinstra, Minneapolis MN. She is also survived by her dear sister Julie Hayes Owen, brother in law Lee Berns, and grandchildren; Jack Enders, Scott Enders, Mark Enders, John Reinstra, Sam Enders, Margaret Reinstra and Matthew Reinstra, many nieces, nephews and cousins. She is preceded in death by her mother Frances Westlund, father Wilfred Hayes, brother Jack Hayes and sister Janice Berns.

Judy was born in Superior Wisconsin August 11, 1940 and attended Superior Central High School, she attended Methodist Hospital School of Nursing in Madison Wisconsin where she became a Registered Nurse. Judy met Llewellyn in Madison over a ping pong game and they were married on October 21, 1961. Judy and “Lew” were very involved in their community and served together in activities over many years. This included the New Richmond chamber of commerce, NR Hockey Association, 4-H, Girl and Boy scouts, and membership in the United Methodist Church. Judy was an active member of the New Richmond Garden Club and any book club she could find. Judy was an enrolled member of the Bad River Band of the Lake Superior Tribe of Chippewa Indians. She was the Director of Nursing at Holy Family Hospital, worked as the NR District school nurse and owned a book store in New Richmond for a short time. She cultivated many interests and some extraordinary friendships.

A memorial service was held Friday, December 6, 2019 at 11:00 am at the New Richmond United Methodist Church (209 E 2nd St.). Visitation was one hour prior to the service and a reception followed at the church. The Rev. Jeremy Deaner officiated the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Judy’s life. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Five Loaves Food Shelf at 144 West Third Street, New Richmond WI 53017. The family would like to thank the many nurses and caregivers at Westfields Cancer Center and Lakeview Hospice who provided enormous support to Judy, Lew and family during her fight with cancer. Arrangements are with Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services.
