Judith “Judi” Bice 09/16/2023

Judith “Judi” Bice, age 80 of Frederic, WI formerly of New Richmond, WI passed away on Saturday, September 16, 2023 at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire, WI. She was born the daughter of Leonard and Virginia (Forrest) Hoogheem on April 18, 1943 in New Richmond. Judi graduated from New Richmond High School in 1961. She was set up on a blind date with Walter Bice, who was stationed at the Nike Base near Roberts, and few short months later they were married on January 15, 1966. Judi worked many years at Friday Canning and when Walter retired the couple moved up to Frederic, WI. She was an active volunteer in her church and is remembered as a very loving and giving person who loved to spend time with her family and her friends. She is survived by her children, Timothy (Linda) Bice, Karen Bice Galvin; grandchildren, Joseph Galvin and Kassandra Galvin; siblings, Allan (Diane) Hoogheem, Elaine Beebe, Geri Frank, Gary “Willie” Hoogheem, Dan (Char) Hoogheem, Steve (Madelyn) Hoogheem, Lona (Dan) Smith, Barb (Kevin) Holm; in-laws, Joyce Green, Barbara Eustice; several nieces, nephews, other cherished relatives and friends. Judi was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Virginia Hoogheem; husband, Walter AJ Bice; in-laws, Ronald Frank, Duane Beebe, James Green, Gene Eustice, Johnny Ed Bice, Alice Carruthers; father and mother-in-law, Samuel and Rosa Bice. A memorial service was held on Saturday, September 23, 2023 at 2:00 pm at Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services (728 S Knowles Ave) in New Richmond. Judi’s service was livestreamed via the link found at the bottom of the obituary. Visitation was also Saturday from 1:00-2:00 pm at the funeral home. Private family interment will be in Northern Wisconsin Veterans Cemetery in Spooner. Arrangements are with Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services.
