Joyce Haubrich-Potter 11/26/2024

With great sorrow, Joyce Haubrich-Potter of Hudson, WI passed on November 26, 2024 after her courageous battle with cancer. With Joyce’s recent birthday and upcoming wedding anniversary, her family wanted to memorialize the wonderful woman she was.

Joyce was born to Donald and Dolores Haubrich on April 16th, 1964 in Olivia, Minnesota. She was one of eight children and grew up on the farm with many close family friends and cousins. Joyce was a graduate of Danube High School in 1982. After graduation, she moved to the Hudson, WI area where she met the love of her life, Charlie Potter. Joyce and Charlie were married on April 23, 1988 and they enjoyed 36 wonderful years together. They raised two sons, McKay and Landon.

Joyce and Charlie experienced many chapters of life together. This included living and working in St. Paul, Las Vegas, Cape Cod, and Hudson. Throughout each of these stops, Joyce was a true entrepreneur. She enjoyed managing and owning a pet store and a coffee shop, but she truly loved the clamming and chainsaw carving businesses she ran with her husband. She was happiest when spending time on the ocean in Cape Cod. She also loved traveling the East Coast and the Midwest as one of the only husband and wife chainsaw carving teams.

Joyce was known for her warm and welcoming presence. She was a loving and devoted mom, wife, sister, daughter, and friend. Joyce’s kind, generous, and determined spirit was an inspiration to everyone she crossed paths with. Her passions included baking and sewing, morning coffee chats, enjoying a glass of wine on the back deck after work, and spending time with family and friends. Joyce also truly enjoyed supporting and cheering on her sons as they played lacrosse. Throughout Joyce’s eight-year journey with cancer, she displayed incredible courage and unwavering hope. She will always be remembered for the light she brought to others.

Joyce is survived by her husband, Charlie; her children McKay (Karolyn) and Landon; cousins and many close friends. Joyce is preceded in death by her sister and best friend, Julie; and parents, Donald and Dolores.
