Joyce Dyrud 01/07/2020

Joyce A. Dyrud, age 86 of New Richmond, WI died Tuesday, January 7, 2020 at Westfields Hospital in New Richmond. Joyce was born the daughter of John and Elda (Selbrede) Baumbach on July 7, 1933 in West Salem, WI. She grew up in Sparta, WI attending Sparta High School graduating, class of 1951. After high school, she graduated from the Northwest Institute of Medical Technology in 1955. Joyce married James (Jim) Dyrud on September 14, 1957 at her hometown church, St. John’s Lutheran Church in Sparta, WI.  After their wedding they returned to Conrad, MT where they began their married life together.  Joyce spent many years decorating wedding cakes and quilting.  Jim and Joyce enjoyed years of volunteering at the East Fork Lutheran School in Whitewater, Arizona.  They were also avid square dancers and were members of the Friendly Twirlers Square dance club out of Balsam Lake. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. But her greatest joy was spending time with her best friend and husband Jim on car rides, vacations and just being together.  Joyce is preceded in death by her parents, John and Elda Baumbach; twin babies, Bradley and Jamie Dyrud; sister, Karen Riley; brothers, Jack Baumbach and Gary Baumbach; great-grandchildren, Christian Lindquist and Kaleb Fredrich.  She is survived by her husband, Jim; son, Ryan (Yanette) Dyrud; daughters, Michelle (Dean) Schneider and Stephanie (Steve) Langer; grandchildren, Rebecca (Jeff) Lindquist, Karilynn (Jeremy) Johnson, Joanna (Jamelle) Hargraves, Tim (Valerie) Schneider, Katrina (Jeremy) Fredrich, Nicole Schneider, John (Migdalia) Schneider; Eric Dyrud, Ryne Dyrud, Bryton Dyrud, Kevin (Ryanne) Langer, Eric (Emilie) Langer and 23 great-grandchildren.  A funeral service was held Friday, January 10, 2020 at 11:00 am at Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church 14940 62nd St. Stillwater, MN.  Visitation was Thursday, January 9, 2020 from 4-8 pm at Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services 728 S Knowles Ave New Richmond, WI and on Friday from 10-11 am at the church.  Interment was in the New Richmond Cemetery.
