John R. Haasch

John R. Haasch, age 72, of New Richmond died very peacefully at his home on March 5th, 2011 from adenocarcinoma of the GE junction. Preceded in death by parents Evelyn and John E. Haasch. Survived by wife, Judy; children, Annlyn Gard (Joe) of McKinney, TX, Amy Jo Skaar (Bryan) of Poynette, WI, Jon Christian (Michele) of New Richmond, Sarah Higgins (Greg) of Madison, WI; ten grandchildren, Katie Beth and Jennifer Blodgett, Megan and Bridget Skaar, Rose, John and Grace Haasch, and Judy, Christian and Lila Higgins; Sister-in-law Susan Doran (Bill) of Hot Springs Village, AR, brother -in-law Lenny Burczyk (Lilli), Santa Fe, NM., Nephew William Doran and niece Kelly Schreckenberger, many friends, cousins, and his cat Vinney. Graduate of New Richmond High School, Class of 1956. Graduate of University of Wisconsin Madison where he was a member of the Concert and Marching bands. Married Judy (Burczyk) June 23, 1962 in Milwaukee, WI. Served in the USARMC with active duty during the Berlin Crisis. John was a Sales manager for Standard Oil for fourteen years. He also owned Haasch Real Estate and Appraisal for twenty five years and was a Rotarian. John was a welcome addition to the Immaculate Conception Church Funeral Ministry where his special talent as a pianist was celebrated. On May 19th, 2000, John suffered a near-fatal ruptured aortic aneurysm. He lost his right leg as a complication of that incident, but not his 2nd lease on life, which he seized upon with a strength and courage that would make anyone proud. Visitation, Sunday, March 13th 4-8 PM at Cullen Crea Funeral Home. Visitation, Monday March 14th at the Church of the Immaculate Conception at 10 AM, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM. Luncheon to follow. Springtime burial when the grass is green.
