John Kuhn 05/31/2024

John Kuhn, age 78, of New Richmond, WI passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Friday, May 31, 2024 at Westfields Hospital in New Richmond.  He was born April 18, 1946 the son of John Henry and Alice Vivian Kuhn.  John served his country in the US Marines in the Vietnam War and followed with years of service in the National Guard. John worked on the railroad following his military service.  He was a family man, spending time with his family was his favorite thing.  He is remembered for his words of wisdom, sense of humor,  and care giving.  John was a humble man who always put people first.  He was known as a big old teddy bear. John loved pheasant hunting and being out in the woods.  He is survived by his children, Wayne (Michelle) Kuhn, Kristina (Lee) Anderson, Andrea (Benjamin) Pitchford; grandchildren, Hailey (Steven), Hunter, Cody (Heather), Taylor, Brittany, Cassie, Breauna, and Riley; 12 great-grandchildren; and other relatives and cherished friends.  John is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Sandra; sisters, Jane and Judy as well as other family and friends.  A Celebration of John’s Life was held Saturday, June 22, 2024 at Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services (728 S Knowles Ave) in New Richmond.  Visitation began at 11:00 am.  Memorial service was at 12:00 noon with military honors provided by the VFW Post #10818 of New Richmond and a reception immediately following military honors.  In lieu of flowers, family and friends may donate a tree in John’s memory. https://dnr.wisconsin.gov/topic/treeplanting/donate
