John W. Fuller
March 21, 1939 – August 3, 2025
John W. Fuller, age 86 of River Falls, WI, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 3, 2025 at Comforts of Home in River Falls. He was born on March 21, 1939, on his family’s original rural Wisconsin farm in Kinnickinnic Township — a place rooted in tradition and hard work. He would grow up just across the highway on another farm his parents later purchased, which became the beloved family farm and central to his life’s work.
He was a proud member of FFA at River Falls High School in River Falls, WI, graduating with the Class of 1957. His involvement in FFA was a legacy he cherished — his jacket still hangs as a reminder of those early passions and values.
A lifelong farmer and craftsman, he devoted his days to tending both farms with care and pride. In addition to farming, he worked as a skilled carpenter with H&B Construction in the Twin Cities, retiring with pride after decades of dedicated service. Before that, he took soil samples for the county, always with a deep respect for the land.
In 1986, he married his wife of 39 years, Linda. Together, they raised their son Jesse in the hillside home tucked into the back of the family farm. The home was often filled with visits from their other children — Becky, Dan, Jared, and Joe — whose presence brought warmth, laughter, and lasting memories. It was a place where John watched storms roll in from the west and found peace in the simplicity and beauty of the land he called home.
He may not have always said “I love you” with words, but he showed it in a thousand quiet ways — whether it was helping fix your car, finding the right parts for a big project, or just taking the long way home. He always preferred “the scenic way” as we drove those winding Wisconsin roads — but looking back, perhaps the only thing more beautiful than the farmland and forests of the only state he ever called home was the love he had for his family. And maybe that’s why the road always took a little longer than it needed to — so he could hold on to those moments just a little more.
He will be remembered for his quiet strength, unwavering work ethic, and the deep, enduring love he gave so freely in all the ways that mattered.
He is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Linda Fuller, and his children: Becky Jensen, Dan Fuller, Jared Fuller, Jesse Fuller, and Joe Harding. He is also survived by his sisters, Mary Kugel, Patti Carroll, and Emily Williams.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Esther C. Fuller and Frank William Fuller.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 14, 2025 from 4-8 pm and on Friday, August 15, 2025 from 4-5 pm at Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services 805 E Division Street River Falls, WI. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, August 15, 2025 at 5 pm at Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services with meal following the service. Interment will be in Kinnickinnic Cemetery at a later date. Arrangements are with Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services.
