John Peter Anderson, age 87 of Red Wing, Mn, passed away on Saturday, August 1, 2020 at his home in Red Wing. John was born the son of Herbert and Mabel (Johnson) Anderson on August 17, 1932 in Stockholm, WI. He was married to Mary Elizabeth Thompson on July 28, 1956. John served in the Air Force in the Korean and Vietnam Conflicts as a radio operator. He is survived by his wife of 64 years Mary E. Anderson; daughters, Diana (Jim) Livers of Red Wing, MN and Denice (Rod) Sweeney of Minneapolis, MN; 5 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; siblings, Delbert (Bonnie) Anderson of Glendale, AZ, Ruby (Earl) Bergman of Maple Grove, MN, Norma (Gary) Wagner of Eden Prairie, MN; sisters-in-law, Mary Anderson of Coon Rapids, MN and Barb Anderson of Cambridge, MN; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Mabel Anderson; siblings, Don (Pricilla) Anderson, Russel (Lorraine) Anderson, Vernon Anderson, Ruth (Don James/Chet Johnson) Johnson, Jim Anderson, and Judy Gundlach. A Celebration of John’s life was held on Saturday, September 12, 2020 at 11 am at the Pepin Hill Event Center W8996 Pepin Hill Road Pepin, WI. Visitation was also on Saturday, September 12, 2020 from 10-11 am.  Interment was in Marie Lund Cemetery.
