Joan Schug 02/22/2025

Joan joined the Creator and her sisters on February 22, 2025. We are sure she was welcomed with big hugs and smiles.
Joan grew up in rural Montana enjoying all the state had to offer. Fishing, camping, skiing. Life on the farm offered many unique challenges but Joan found a way to move through the challenges and still smile and grow.
She forged strong relationships based on love and caring for others. Those relationships are as strong today as they were earlier in her life. We have heard her described as “gem”, “quirky”, “caring” and many other loving names.
She was able to see places during her life that she never dreamed of seeing. Costa Rica, Hawaii, Mexico, Bahamas, Cayman Islands and more.
Later in life she fought health challenges but always found a way to make light of her ills and smile.
She touched many lives and many touched hers. Perhaps that was her greatest gift to others and herself.
The world is a little darker without her, heaven is a little brighter with her. We miss you and know we love you. We pray you find the peace that at times was so elusive for you in this world…..Peace.

A Celebration of Life was held on Friday, March 14, 2025 from 3:00 – 6:00PM at Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services (805 E Division St) River Falls, Wisconsin.

Arrangements are with Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation & Services.

Scot, my thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family. I did not have the good fortune of ever meeting Joan, but from this wonderful description and tribute to her life, I feel like I got to know, just a bit, what an amazing person she was, and the positive impact and joy she gifted others while on this earth. God bless Joan, you, and your entire family! Tom

Sorry to hear the news. I met her a few times when she was helping at work and she was always very kind. My heart breaks for you and I wish I had more eloquent words to express my sincere sympathy. I enjoyed reading a bit about her life and thank you sharing. Wishing many fond memories in unexpected moments, delivered as tiny gifts for your heart in the years to come. My thoughts are with you and your family.

We will miss her…. Had good visits when we visited she always welcomed us and insisted we go with her to recycling!!!!!! Also had a great day of garage sales …I know Scot, you thought your sister and brother inlaw were from a different family.. Will always remember those beautiful times. The realization of those memories will live on within us all giving comfort and allowing us to also find Peace.. Watch for the cardinals and butterflies.. Sorry we can’t be there with you and the boys but know our thoughts and heat felt love is.

Being the youngest of eight, Joan became resilient and determined. She proved she was capable and able to do tough tasks yet remain caring and full of life. Together with Scott she found joy, love and adventure. Being lovingly cared for through the tough times and being able to enjoy warm places with someone you love is a hope of life.
