Joan A. Ericson, age 78 of New Richmond, WI died Thursday, December 6, 2018 at the Deerfield Gables in New Richmond. Joan was born the daughter of Edwin and Frances (nee Trubiroha) Suk on October 6, 1940 in Chicago, IL. She grew up in Villa Park attending York High School, graduating class of 1957 at age 16. Following graduation from high school, Joan attended Elmhurst college. She married Jack Ericson on May 14, 1960. Joan spent most of her time raising her two sons, Jeff and Chad. She was passionate about her family; volunteering and attending all the family’s events. Joan was a warm, sweet, hard-working family woman who cared deeply for her family and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Edwin and Frances; and aunt, Ann (Art) Zabransky. Joan is survived by her husband of 58 years, Jack; sons, Jeff (Diana) and Chad (Jamie); grandchildren, Sydney and Tucker; sister, Lynne (Ronald) Schmid; and many other relatives and friends. A Mass of Christian Burial was held Friday, December 14, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church (151 South Washington Avenue, New Richmond, WI 54017) with a visitation one hour prior to the service. A visitation was also held Thursday, December 13, 2018 from 3:00-7:00 p.m. at Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services (728 S. Knowles Avenue, New Richmond, WI 54017). Interment was in Willow River Cemetery in Hudson, WI. Arrangements are with Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services.
