Joan Constant 03/27/2020

Joan Anne Constant, age 84 of Somerset, WI died on Friday, March 27, 2020 at Regions Hospital in St. Paul, MN. Joan was born the daughter of Edward and Beatrice (Heifort) Brisson on November 7, 1935 in Stillwater, MN. Joan grew up near Hugo, MN and graduated from Forest Lake High School with the class of 1953. She was married to Donald Constant in 1954. Joan went to work for the Stillwater Phone Company then decided to stay home and raise her family. As they grew, Joan went to work in housekeeping. She worked at Maple Manor Care Center, The St. Croix Health Center, and Domain. Joan was an active member of St. Anne’s Church in Somerset. She enjoyed reading, knitting, garage sales, surfing the internet, and getting together with friends and family. Joan was a quiet, strong woman with a great sense of humor. She is preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Beatrice Brisson; husband, Donald Constant; son, Jerry Constant; and brother, Richard (Mary Lou) Brisson. Joan is survived by her sons, Steve (Rachel) Constant, Doug Constant, Brian Constant; grandchildren, Jamie Gibson, Gary Constant, Chad Constant, Colleen (Jim) Bighley, Dan Constant, Justin Constant, Becky (Ed) Shannon; 13 great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Donna Constant; and sister, Mary Kay (Tom) Follingstad. Mass of Christian Burial was held at 11 am on Friday, June 26, 2020 at St. Anne’s Church in Somerset. Visitation was also on Friday, June 26, 2020 from 10-11 am at the church.  Interment was in St. Anne’s Cemetery.  Arrangement are with Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services.

    So very sorry to hear about JOAN, such a dear sweet lady, always so nice to see her and visit, fun to talk and laugh with. She was a faithful library patron, always great to see her .. and how she would support the library making yummy bars for our book and bake sale! Bless you all!
