Jeannie Gunderson 02/23/2012

Jeannie Gunderson age 38 of Roberts passed away peacefully on February 23, 2012 from cancer.  She was born January 11, 1974 to Bonnie and Auldin Gunderson.  She graduated from St. Croix Central High School and attended WITC in New Richmond.  Jeannie was preceded in death by her loving mother, Bonnie Gunderson.  Jeannie was a very sensitive and caring person and always put everyone else before herself.  She loved spending  time with her family and friends, family gatherings, picnics, and fishing.  Other hobbies included cross stitching, card making, and other various craft projects.  Chatting online with her many friends, working out at curves, and holding card classes at Hazel Mackin Community Library were also a big part of her life in the recent years.  Jeannie was a member of Cross Lutheran Church of Roberts.  At the age of 19 months, Jeannie fought her first round of cancer.  She remained cancer free until several years later when she was diagnosed with skin cancer.  She was told that the skin cancer was caused by the radiation treatments that she received for her leukemia when she was a baby.  Those spots were removed, then a few years later a benign tumor was found in her brain.  That tumor was also removed.  Jeannie was determined to overcome the trials that life had thrown at her- and she did it-all with a positive attitude.  Towards the end of 2011 Jeannie was diagnosed with a rare form of brain cancer.  Despite what the doctors had told her, she was determined she was going to fight it.  Unfortunately it wasn’t meant to be.  We all miss you very much, Jeannie, and you were loved by so many.   Jeannie is survived by her father, Auldin Gunderson of Roberts; sisters, Sharon (Joey) Lawson of Hammond and Brenda Gunderson of Roberts.  She is also survived by two nephews whom she loved very much, Tucker Brandstrom and Travis Lawson both of Hammond; many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.  The visitation was on Sunday, February 26, 2012 from 4-8 pm at Bakken-Young Funeral Home (1750 8th Ave.) in Baldwin.  The funeral service was on Monday, February 27, 2012 at 11 am at Cross Lutheran Church (1246 County Rd TT) in Roberts.  There was a visitation one hour prior to the service at church.  Interment was in Warren Cemetery in Roberts.  Arrangements are with Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services of Baldwin.
