Jeannette Rivard

Jeannette Alta Rivard, age 97, passed away on January 11, 2021 at the Baldwin Care Center. She was born on October 2, 1923 to Ralph and Dorthy (Bell) Brown in St. Paul, Minnesota. On Jan 16, 1943 Jeannette and Orville Rivard were married at St. Andrews Church in Monroe, LA. Later they moved to Somerset, Wisconsin where they were lifelong members of St. Anne’s Catholic Church.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Orville Rivard; daughter, Karen Peterson, and parents, Ralph and Dorthy; brother, Ralph (Bud) Brown; sisters, Katherine Doring and Mae Staker.

Jeannette was an active member and treasurer of the St. Anne’s Mother’s Club and was delighted when Father Rivard commended her as being the only treasurer to submit a balanced budget report during her tenure. She moved to Birchwood assisted living apartments in Baldwin, WI in 2014 where she enjoyed many activities and entertainment events before her eye-site failed.

Jeannette is survived by four children, Lynn (Carol) Rivard of Heartsell AL., Janet Rivard of New Richmond, WI., Jean Rivard of Hudson, WI., Lee (Jackie) Rivard of New Richmond, WI., and special friend Sheila Peulen. Twelve grandchildren, Joe (Dyan) Rivard, Jimmy (Jenny) Rivard, Jennifer (Chris) Haut, Lee Roy Peterson, Tom (Sonja) Peterson, Jason (Dee Dee) Halvorson, Aimee (Mark) Flatten, Chris (Jodi) Philen, Laura (Mike Wiles) Philen, Renee (Mike) Sandidge, Michelle (Randy Johnson) Rivard, Evelyn (Jeremy) Lewis; great grandchildren, Emily, Ryan, Jimmy, Jessica, Alissa, Tommy, Timmy, Rich, Luke, Tyler, Presely, Ryder, Blake, Tyler, Austin, Brady, Abby, Connor, Savea, Brenna, Annika, Finnley, Gunnar, Reanna, and Tannar; and great great grandson Trey, and great granddaughter Hartlyn.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Somerset, WI where she will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband and daughter.
