Jeannette “Marg” Johnson of New Richmond, WI passed away Thursday, April 7th at the Deerfield Gables Nursing home at the age of 95. Born May 25, 1915 in St. Paul, Minnesota, Marg was a resident of the Eastside of St. Paul until her retirement in 1980. Marg lived most of the last 30 years at the family lake home on Cedar Lake outside Star Prairie and the last few years at the Deerfield Gables Nursing home in New Richmond. Marg loved her good friends and family and enjoyed entertaining and socializing, especially during the holidays. She also loved being outdoors and spent countless hours in her garden or on the golf course. Her strong will and feisty personality were evident throughout her life. Marg’s zest for life is best exemplified by waterskiing with her grandsons at the age of 60. The words “can’t” or “impossible” were not part of her vocabulary, which is why she lived such a long and vibrant life until the last few years. Marg embraced life to its fullest and she will be greatly missed. Marg is preceded in death by her husband, Milton A. Johnson, her son, Dennis M. Johnson, her grandson, Thomas E. Johnson, her sister, Ruth Weimer and her furry companion Pandee. Marg is survived by her grandson, William (Jill) Johnson of Chanhassen, Minnesota, her granddaughter, Kathleen (Gustavo) Johnson-Solano of Mexico City, Mexico; three great grandsons, Erick, Sam and Bennett, whom she loved dearly; nephew, George (Rae) Weimer; daughter-in-law, Barbara Foote-Johnson; and step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren. A funeral service was held Friday, April 15, 2011 at 11:00 am at Bakken-Young’s Beebe Mortuary in New Richmond. Visitation was also Friday from 9:00-11:00 am.
