Constance Jean Robey of River Falls died Thursday, March 21, 2013 at her home. She was born the daughter of Earl and Marian (Dunlap) Bennett on October 8, 1932 in Delavan, IL. Her family moved to Wisconsin from Illinois in 1949 at which time she was in High school. She graduated from River Falls High school and attended Eau Claire Business School. On September 15, 1956 Jean married Howard Robey at the English Lutheran Church in Ellsworth, WI. She worked at Smeads in River Falls, 3M, Montgomery Ward, River Falls Journal and Skell/Ferrell Gas. Jean enjoyed working at the River Falls town hall during elections, she was a 4H leader and involved in Fargo Homemakers. Jean and Howard were longtime communion stewards at the United Methodist Church in River Falls. She was also involved in the ladies aid at church. Most of all, Jean enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Howard Robey; brother, Robert “Bob” Bennett; sister, Donna Wilkens; and stepmother, Ethyl Bennett. Jean is survived by her two sons, Michael and Thomas both of River Falls; grandchildren, Jessica, Bryce, Kristen and Kayla; brother, Richard (Mary) Bennett of Hudson; sister Elizabeth (Ralph) DeRoy of River Falls; brother Dean (Patsy) Bennett of Luck; brother Jim (Nance) Bennett of Star Prairie; sister-in-law, Carol Bennett of River Falls; brother-in-law, Jerry Wilkens of River Falls; aunt Dorothy Willer of Galesburg, IL and cousins Judy DeBoer and Nita Kubricht; and many nieces and nephews. A Funeral Service was held on Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at 11 am at the River Falls United Methodist Church. Visitation was held on Monday, April 1, 2013 from 4-8 pm at the Bakken-Young Funeral Home in River Falls and on Tuesday from 10-11 am at the church. Interment was in Greenwood Cemetery. Arrangements are with Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services of River Falls.
